Note

The five guys came from US to Germany as GI. In the early 1960s, Dave Day and Gary Burger started the band together. By 1964 after several repeated to swap of a member, pre-Monks called The Five Torquays had fixed.

Late 1964, they recorded 2 songs, "Boys are boys" and "There she walks", for SCH label issued in 1965 under the name The Five Torquays. "Boys are boys" is a normal R n'B number and "There she walks" is an early ska styled pop number deverted an intro guitar riff from Marvin Gaye's "Hitch hike", also a former number re-recorded with a demented jagged R n'B arrangement for 1966 their only album.

They signed to Layola records on Aug. 1, 1965, and the same day, recorded "Seven / In got I trust" for the first single, also the most of cuts on this album were recorded on the same session.

Also due to a few 'Pirates' existing already in France, on their 1st single releasing, they renamed 'Sevens' after their favorite own killer tune 'Seven'.

On Sep., 1966, after finished a short tour with Casey Jones & The Governors, ex-Dynamites' Pit Schafer replaced Nando Gasparini as a drums 'cause of N. Gasparini's a little heavy disease, also a vocalist/guitarist Pierre Aebischer left the band. Finally The Sevens disbanded on Oct., 1966.

[About a name 'Boway', stated as a credit for their original compositions.]
- A name 'Boway' was shown on their original 45s and LP as a credit of their original compositions in those days. However, these are not miss spelling for 'Michel Bovey', also on the recent FA official reissued LP, transfered 'Boway' to all the member's names. Therefore I guess 'Boway' had been using as alike thing to 'Nanker Phelge' used as an assumed name for the original compositions by five crew of The Rolling Stones, not 'Jaggar / Richard' by two.
